We will take you to a part of Beijing dating back to the time of the imperial dynasties when the Drum Tower and the Clock Tower were used to advise the inhabitants of the time. Because of their location in the area north of the Forbidden City, climbing one of these two ancient towers will afford you excellent views over the city. Then we will travel by rickshaw to Silver Lingot Bridge and from here we walk into the hutong to see the Siheyuan, typical courtyard houses differing in size from the common houses. By rickshaw we continue to Prince Gong's Palace. Besides the residence there is also a big garden. It is now coming into another stage in its history - it is currently being turned into a national museum sponsored by the Ministry of Culture.
